Stories of Resistance
We are gathering stories of resistance to the institution of slavery in St. Louis and the region. This includes collection of wanted ads that provide insight into both slave ownership and the agency of the enslaved in securing their own freedom, and examination of the abolitionist movement, underground railroad, and other anti-slavery mobilization in and around St. Louis.
